Could Biden be responsible for Oct 7?

Could Biden be responsible for Oct 7?

I was wondering why the Middle East was relatively peaceful until Biden came into office. I think that it is likely that Joe Biden may have been responsible for Hamas’ attack on Israel and the resulting war in Gaza. I know that is a serious charge and frankly I am surprised that I have not heard anyone broach the idea. Consider that Biden’s lifting of the sanctions against Iran meant that $40 billion has flowed into Iran’s coffers for its oil sales. With that $40 billion, Iran was able to fund its surrogates on the Israeli border to up their harassment of Israel. Where did the Houthis in Yemen, Hezbollah in Lebanon, and Hamas in Gaza get all their missiles and armaments? How do those thousands pay for their uniforms and who pays their salaries? It is Iran and where did Iran get the money? From its oil sales thanks to Joe Biden.

Biden’s policy of appeasement resulted in all the Iranian surrogates becoming more active. The Houthis started attacking ships in the Red Sea. Hezbollah started lobbing missiles into northern Israel and Hamas attacked on Oct 7. Coincidence? Maybe but not likely. Israel went into Gaza to eradicate Hamas and Biden has tried to hamper their efforts. He has drawn several lines in the sand over the war in Gaza. He warned Israel that the Palestinian casualty figures were too high and he threatened to hold back armaments. The Israelis ignored him. He did not want them to go into Rafah. Thankfully, again the Israelis ignored him or else the murderous Yayha Sinwar and his like would still be alive.

Biden and his inept secretary of state Blinken have been trying to get Israel to quit its campaign to get the release of the hostages. The Israelis have said that they will back down only if Hamas surrenders and releases the hostages. Any other solution would be unacceptable if Hamas continues to exist. Trump on the other hand has said that Israel should end the war by eliminating Hamas and that he will help them get that done. Biden seems to have forgotten that Hamas holds four Americans as hostage but not Trump who said “We want our hostages back, and they better be back before I assume office or you will be paying a very big price.” I bet Hamas believes Trump. They have been warned. Look for the hostages to be freed by January 20, 2025

What about Iran which is now engaged in a tit for tat with Israel? Iran’s feeble attempts to retaliate against Israeli assassinations of Iranian sponsored terrorists caused Biden to warn Israel not to strike Iran’s oil and nuclear facilities. They didn’t. Trump, who probably is a bit upset that the Iranians have targeted him for assassination said that the Israelis should “Hit the nuclear first and worry about the rest later”. Again I bet Iran believes Trump and will start to tone down its rhetoric and ratchet back the support of its surrogates. I seriously doubt if Iran will call Trump’s bluff. They have to realize that their influence in the region has been instantly diminished. Trump will cut off their oil sales and their ability to finance terrorism. Their influence in the Middle East will wane. Peace in the Middle East will be more likely as Iran becomes isolated, loses its main source of revenue and is forced to stop funding its terrorist buddies.

The election: A post-mortem

The election: A post-mortem

Apparently taking Kamala Harris’ advice to resist, the governors of Illinois, Massachusetts, New Jersey and California have announced that they will resist the Trump Administration. California’s Newson wants to make the state “Trump proof” and to “safeguard California values and fundamental rights.” Illinois’ Pritzker has said that “you come for my people, you come through me” – an apparent reference to Trump’s threat of deporting illegals. Massachusetts’ Healey says that she will have her law enforcement officers to not support Trump’s deportation efforts. New Jersey’s Murphy says he will “fight to the death” against Trump if he is “contrary to values”. Well I have a suggestion: why not transport any illegal to those states to await deportation? I am sure the residents of Palm Springs, Matha’s Vineyard, Parsippany, and Kenilworth will welcome them with open arms.

Imagine the hue and cry from the left if republican governors had said that they were going to resist or ignore the edits coming from Biden. Actually, I wondered why didn’t they and guessed the reason was that they asked their attorneys general to pursue legal action. Obviously, the democrats would rather have an insurrection instead.

Trump, as we all know, is profane. But it seems that most presidents cursed. Lyndon Johnson was probably the worse. Even Richard Nixon said that if you thought his language was bad, you should hear Lyndon Johnson. Joe Biden is not choir boy either, freely throwing around f-bombs. As to presidential slurs, Trump doesn’t hold a candle to Abraham Lincoln who said of Steven Douglas’ view on slavery “It is as thin as the homeopathic soup that was made by boiling the shadow of a pigeon that had been starved to death.”

What has happened to coarsen our language over the years? Now even literate people sound illiterate. Consider tweets. Chris Olave, wide receiver from Ohio State now with the New Orleans Saints tweeted this after suffering a second concussion, “Thank God Preciate all the love & prayers Ima be aight.” Ohio State should revoke his degree.

Kamala Harris an empty pantsuit got 69 million votes. Trump, who everybody knows is a wannabe fascist got over 73 million votes. Is this a great country or what?

One of my best friends in Georgia is retired. He is black and has a high school education. Salt of the earth. He is pinching pennies due to the price of energy, groceries and health care. He has never voted for a republican until Trump. I asked him why Trump and he said that when Harris said she could think of a thing she would change, he could not vote for her.

I told him the raid at Mar-a-Largo did it for me.

There are 231 million eligible voters in the US. Of that number 161 million are registered voters and 142 voted. It also means that 89 million eligible voters did not vote. I think that the motor voter law is responsible for these numbers. It is too easy to register. You no longer have to make a special trip to the courthouse. Now people who are never motivated to vote are registered when they get a driver’s license or apply for public assistance.

Since it seems that every other commercial on the sports networks is a betting website. I wonder if there is a parley on how long will it take for Trump to fire his first cabinet member? Take the under.

Biden didn’t fire anyone and there have been only two resignations from his original cabinet which must be a world’s record. One resigned to join a law firm. The other resigned to become executive director of the National Hockey Leagues Players Association!

Trump got 45 percent of the Latino vote because he appealed to them as citizens rather than as a voting bloc. He talked about the economy and illegal immigration. The democrats seemed surprised that the Latinos resented being called Latinx and taken for granted. The Latino communities on the border are overrun with illegals straining their social fabric. No wonder many of their communities went for Trump. Note to the democrats: are you sure that open borders will benefit you?

Trump got 25 percent of the black male vote and the democrats act as if he got 75 percent. Of course 92 percent of black women voted for Harris. I think that is because black women want to keep having abortions while black men are more concerned about the economy. Does Obamacare cover abortions?

Seventy-nine percent of Jews voted for Harris. Go figure.

Only fifty-four percent of Catholics voted for Trump. Go figure.

Trump says that he will be a dictator only on Day 1. That means he will govern unilaterally through executive orders – just like Biden before him. See my previous positing on Joe Biden, Dictator.

Harris’ “concession” speech

Harris’ concession speech

Did you hear Kamala Harris “concession” speech? She disappointed her supporters by not showing up to console them at her watch party. She appeared the next day instead. Her speech was anything but gracious. It was a defiant call to resist. I cannot recall another losing presidential candidate not asking for unity and for bringing back together a country so deeply divided..

Here are some highlights of her speech:

“The outcome of this election is not what we wanted, not what we fought for, not what we voted for, but hear me when I say, hear me when I say the light of America’s promise will always burn bright as long as we never give up and as long as we keep fighting.”

“…. while I concede this election, I do not concede the fight that fueled this campaign. The fight for freedom, for opportunity, for fairness and the dignity of all people. A fight for the ideals at the heart of our nation, the ideals that reflect America at our best. That is a fight I will never give up.”

“I will never give up the fight for a future where Americans can pursue their dreams, ambitions and aspirations. Where the women of America have the freedom to make decisions about their own body and not have their government telling them what to do.”

“And we will continue to wage this fight in the voting booth, in the courts and in the public square.”

“This is not a time to throw up our hands. This is a time to roll up our sleeves. This is a time to organize, to mobilize and to stay engaged for the sake of freedom and justice and the future that we all know we can build together.”

“There’s an adage an historian once called a law of history true of every society across the ages. The adage is, only when it is dark enough can you see the stars. I know many people feel like we are entering a dark time, but for the benefit of us all I hope that is not the case.”

Compare this to Donald Trump’s 2020 concession speech. Trump was upset, enraged even, over what he thought were irregularities in the vote counting. He felt cheated. His supporters demonstrated in Washington and invaded the Capitol on January 6 giving the democrats an excuse to prosecute Trump and his supporters for inciting a riot. Was Trump bitter? Yes, but here is his speech in its entirety.

“I would like to begin by addressing the heinous attack on the United States Capitol. Like all Americans, I am outraged by the violence, lawlessness and mayhem. I immediately deployed the National Guard and federal law enforcement to secure the building and expel the intruders. America is and must always be a nation of law and order. The demonstrators who infiltrated the Capitol have defiled the seat of American democracy. To those who engaged in the acts of violence and destruction, you do not represent our country. And to those who broke the law, you will pay.

We have just been through an intense election and emotions are high. But now tempers must be cooled and calm restored. We must get on with the business of America. My campaign vigorously pursued every legal avenue to contest the election results. My only goal was to ensure the integrity of the vote. In so doing, I was fighting to defend American democracy. I continue to strongly believe that we must reform our election laws to verify the identity and eligibility of all voters and to ensure faith and confidence in all future elections.

Now, Congress has certified the results. A new administration will be inaugurated on January 20. My focus now turns to ensuring a smooth orderly and seamless transition of power. This moment calls for healing and reconciliation. 2020 has been a challenging time for our people. A menacing pandemic has upended the lives of our citizens, isolated millions in their homes, damaged our economy and claimed countless lives. Defeating this pandemic and rebuilding the greatest economy on earth will require all of us working together. It will require a renewed emphasis on the civic values of patriotism, faith, charity, community and family. We must revitalize the sacred bonds of love and loyalty that bind us together as one national family.

To the citizens of our country, serving as your president has been the honor of my lifetime. And to all of my wonderful supporters, I know you are disappointed, but I also want you to know that our incredible journey is only just beginning. Thank you, God bless you, and God bless America.”

Does that sound bitter? Did you know that he condemned the January 6 riot. Wasn’t that missing from the press coverage and subsequent inquisition? He also called for “healing and reconciliation” words that are absent from Harris’ speech. While Harris is calling for resistance, Trump asked us to “revitalize the sacred bonds of love and loyalty that bind us together as one national family.”

Harris has failed to try to bring us together. Rather she wants to keep us divided. She wants us to resist Trump over the next four “dark” years She failed her supporters when she did not appear at the watch party. She failed the country when she refused to graciously concede.

Thank you Elon Musk

Thank you Elon Musk

In the presidential election of 2020 aligned against Trump were both the main stream media and the social media giants Twitter, Facebook and Google. All three of the social media giants were in the hands of leftists who hated Trump. Jack Dorsey ran Twitter, Zuckerberg was at Facebook and Google was run by Sundar Pichal. All suppressed stories on Hunter’s laptop and refused to publish stories deemed as misinformation. Of course, the misinformation was not fabricated and they probably knew it.

Twitter suspended Trump’s account as did Facebook, Snapchat and Instagram. Zuckerberg was giving millions to democrats and Google buried searches it did not like. Several hundred thousand voters said afterwards that if they had known about Hunter’s laptop and its link to Joe Biden, they would not have voted for him. Analysis post election showed that if Twitter, Facebook and Google had been forthcoming, Trump would have won. One thing this shows is that Fox News and the New York Post, which shouted the laptop story, did not reach the majority of the voting public. So the coverup was successful. Only two years later, did all the laptop deniers finally admit that the story was legitimate after contending it was part of a Russian hoax to get Donald Trump reelected.

This election was different. Zuckerberg remains a dedicated democrat and would do whatever was necessary to reelect Biden, flip the House and keep the Senate in democrat hands. Google still buries searches it does not like. I googled “Liz Cheney’s criticisms of Harris” and the first several pages were all links to Cheney’s appearances with Harris on the campaign trail and Cheney’s endorsement of Harris. There was one lonely link to an article of Cheney’s previous lambasting of Harris and ridiculing of her positions buried deep in the search. However, Elon Musk had bought Twitter. Not only did he change its name to “X” (although I guess the postings are still called tweets), he became a stalwart Trump supporter and removed Twitter from the evil empire set on demonizing Trump.

Did that have an impact on the election? Millions report that social media (including Tik Tok) is their primary source of news – a fact that I find stunning. So in that world, the flow of information, misinformation or outright censorship is outsized. Musk turned Twitter 180 degrees. From the outset he urged to put in place a republican congress to counter Joe Biden’s presidency saying “Shared power curbs the worst excesses of both parties, therefore I recommend voting for a Republican Congress, given that the Presidency is Democratic.” I wonder if he still feels that way now with Trump as president-elect, a republican Senate and likely a republican House.

The leftist media is howling. Musk had first said that Twitter should be neutral politically and should be upsetting both the left and the right. Obviously, that no longer holds as he became one of Trump’s leading cheerleaders, contributing over $75 million to his campaign and as NPR put it” using X to cheerlead for Trump, smear Vice President Kamala Harris, and amplify rumors and conspiracy theories to his 202 million followers.” Yet 202 million is paltry compared to the billions who use Google daily and Facebook’s over 3 billion subscribers. But as seen over and over again, even influencing several thousand voters can make a difference leaving one to wonder whether if Twitter were still led by Dorsey, would Trump be president elect?

Some have questioned Musk aligning himself with Trump given Trump’s dislike of the Green New Deal and the EV mandates. Musk, however, has said that he opposes the banning of internal combustion engines and the mandates. Some think that he joined the Trump camp because he was furious when he was not invited to the White House to a ceremony where Biden praised the EV efforts of Ford and GM and neglected Tesla altogether. Biden’s actions were because Tesla is nonunion and Biden didn’t dare offend the United Automobile Workers. So thank you Joe. If you had brought Musk into the fold, he would have likely stayed on the sidelines and Trump might not be president-elect.

Trump’s cabinet

Whoopi Goldberg said prior to the election that Liz Cheney would be a great attorney general. But of course, she also said that “Dr” Jill Biden would be a great surgeon general. Oh well, I still liked her as Gainan on Star Trek.

In case he asks, here’s my Trump’s cabinet.

Agriculture – Doug Burgum

Commerce – Vivek Ramaswamy

Defense – Mike Pompeo

Education – Betsy DeVos

Energy – Billy Tauzin

Health and Human Services – Marco Rubio

Homeland Security – Tom Homan

Housing and Urban Development – Tim Scott

Interior – Howard Lutnick

Labor – Elise Stefanik

State – Bill Hagerty

Transportation – Elon Musk

Treasury – John Paulson

Veterans Affairs – Mike Flynn

Attorney General – Janice Rogers Brown

Random thoughts #45

Random thoughts #45

Now that Trump has won and the Senate is republican, will Thomas and Alito retire? Two new young conservative justices should cement the majority for the next two decades.

Trump (unlike Biden) actually has a mandate. Don’t blow it.

I hope he now can get the Census to count only citizens. Again one of the motivating factors behind the democrat’s open borders is to replenish the loss of citizens in their states with illegals. Since the Census counts heads and not citizens, then the democrats will lose fewer electoral votes if they can attract more illegals to their states.

I hope Trump can get rid of the Departments of Education and Energy. Both are useless and only give handouts to special interests. It probably would take Congress to eliminate them. If that isn’t possible then perhaps they can be zeroed out of the budget. Another idea is to take their funding and give it in block grants to the states.

There are 325,000 missing illegal immigrant children. Where is the outrage? Remember all the noise about “children in cages” when Trump was in office? The missing children are another reason Mayorkas should be impeached and convicted. That the media is ignoring this is scandalous.

There was a leak of the Israeli plans to strike Iran. Big surprise given all the pro Hamas sympathizers in the Biden Administration. I would not be shocked if the Israelis had not planted fake plans because surely they know that they can’t trust this bunch in the White House.

Wasn’t it amusing seeing all the phony outreach of the Harris campaign to men? There were the “White dudes for Kamala”. How many of these are manly men? Not Walz who was demonstrating his ineptitude with a shotgun. All this after the left has demonized males since Rush Limbaugh talked about the feminization of American men. Remember toxic masculinity? I thought those on the far left were misandrists.

Did you know that polls showed that the majority of Harris voters were blissfully unaware of her far left positions. Talk about the uninformed voter.

Who will now be anointed leader of the democrat party?

Harris is a sore loser by not showing up at her own “victory” celebration to thank her supporters. Bad look Kamala.

How did the teachers’ unions get taken over by the radical trans crowd?

I don’t really understand all the kowtowing and homage paid to LGBTQ. Would someone please explain that to me?

The newly elected representative from Delaware is transgender – a male who identifies as a female. It’ll be interesting to see Majorie Taylor Greene’s reaction when he walks into the women’s restroom at the Capitol.

The left went bananas when the LA Times and Washington Post failed to endorse Harris. Wasn’t Taylor Swift’s endorsement enough for them? BTW if an endorsement is needed to get you to vote then you should be barred from the polls for life.

Fernando Valenzuela died too young at 63. Although he was not the first Mexican in American baseball, he was the most impactful. One of the few to win rookie of the year and the Cy Young in the same year, he energized the Dodgers and the rest of baseball. Even though he does not have Hall of Fame statistics, he should be in the Hall nonetheless. What was impressive about him was that even though at first he spoke no English, he mastered the language, something that other Latin stars failed to do. I get irritated when players have to speak through an interpreter.

Lastly, regarding the stories about Haitian immigrants eating family pets. Remember when newly arrived Vietnamese immigrants were accused of killing pigeons in city parks with rocks to take them home and eat them? I guess they wanted to leave no tern unstoned.

Take my candidates – please!

I am sure that the 892nd Trump or Harris commercial changed your mind about who to vote for. Way to spend those millions DNC or RNC!

BTW, if you don’t know who you are going to vote for by now, do me a favor and stay home.

More BTW, 80 million eligible voters did not vote in 2020. Evangelistic Christians are said to be the largest block that does not vote. Maybe they just pray for the correct result. Speaking of which, if I were seriously ill I would be reluctant to go to Baptist hospital. Heal!

Harris says that she will bring down prices. What is she going to do – reverse all the Biden policies that drove up inflation in the first place? Maybe she is secretly an Evangelistic Christian and will pray on it.

There is a Harris commercial blasting Trump over his billionaire buds. What about Kamala’s billionaire bros (Mark Cuban, George Soros, Reid Hoffman, Bill Gates, Mark Zukerberg, Howard Schultz, Michael Bloomberg, Tom Steyer, Laurene Powell Jobs, Marc Benioff, Jonathan Gray, Crystal Sacca, Reed Hastings, Melinda French Gates, Sheryl Sandberg, and Vinod Khosla)? I probably left out someone – sorry bro!

BTW what’s a female bro – a broette?

Another Harris ad says that if Trump is elected he will go after his political enemies. I guess just like Biden and his toady ADs have gone after Trump. Payback time? Actually, if Trump tried to go after all his enemies, he wouldn’t have time to do anything else.

I am so over all these political ads, I think I have worn out my mute button.

Hate to see all that effort go to waste. Maybe the CIA can use them instead of waterboarding.

The NFL has a game scheduled in Germany: Giants versus Panthers. Another game was the Bears versus the Jaguars. I thought they were trying to popularize the game abroad? Maybe they think that Europeans know nothing about the game so who cares if they are subjected to an inferior product. Titans, anyone?

BTW, I’m not a pro football fan.

The Babylon Bee has a hilarious video “10 Things to do Before Trump takes Power.” I was going to send it to my leftist friends but decided not to because they would think it was serious.

A quarter of Americans think that serious civil disobedience will occur after the election. Some of the pundits – who should know better – bloviate that we are at a crossroads and the country is in serious danger. I guess they don’t remember that we somehow survived a Civil War, a Great Depression and the civil unrest of the 1960s. We will survive the next four years, regardless of who is elected. Americans are much more resilient than they are given credit for. I have always been bullish on this country and will continue to be.

The World Series: Baseball’s best teams but not its best umpires

You know my love for baseball. It stems from my father planning our summer vacations around the Brooklyn Dodgers’ schedule. If they were in Brooklyn we would go stay with my mother’s brother (Uncle Son). If they were in Cincinnati, we would stay with my father’s brother, Uncle Floyd. Dad loved the Dodgers because of Jackie Robinson while I was a Cleveland Indians fan because of Larry Doby.

Although I dislike both the Yankees and the Dodgers, I still watched the World Series and found it highly entertaining . Others did too because the Monday night game outdrew Monday Night Football. The first game with Freeman’s walk off grand slam down by a run with two outs was why baseball is great. The last two innings of game five were tension-filled. Each pitch was meaningful and although I don’t like the Dodgers, I like the Yankees even less.

I was glad that Freeman was the MVP, especially after all that he has endured this year. I’ll never forgive the Braves for letting him go to the Dodgers.

While Freeman was the World Series MVP, the Dodgers best player during the season was Shohei Otani. Yoshinobu Yamamoto gave them enough starting pitching to help conserve their bullpen. It is only fitting that their manager is a Japanese American, Dave Roberts, who now has three World Series rings. Hall of Fame? I know that Roberts will not be manager of the year because of the Dodgers’ payroll, but he should be. Consider that three of the Dodgers starting four could not pitch: Kershaw, May, and Glassnow. A least four other front line pitchers were out due to injury. Even Yamamoto and Walker Buehler spent time on the DL. The established mantra of MLB is that good pitching beats good hitting. Yet the Dodgers prevailed. Roberts has come under a lot of criticism from the nitpicking, second guessing, super critical media and I am glad to see them with egg in their faces.

The only negative was – as usual – the missed balls and strikes calls of the umpires. Torres in game one was especially inconsistent. I noticed that they took the strike zone box off the screen so you could not see the missed calls. But they were still obvious. What I don’t understand is why MLB doesn’t assign its highest rated umpires to the playoffs and especially to the World Series. Here are the ratings from Umpire Auditor. Note that none are in the top 10. Shame on MLB .

Are you feeling the joy?

I was on a local radio show where the host told the callers that I was black. I corrected him saying that I was “mostly black” having 10 distinct DNA strains.

Obama (who may not even be mostly black) has chided me and other black men about having less than 100 percent of us supporting Harris. “And you are thinking about sitting out?” he said. “Part of it makes me think — and I’m speaking to men directly — part of it makes me think that, well, you just aren’t feeling the idea of having a woman as president, and you’re coming up with other alternatives and other reasons for that.”

Obama actually said “Aren ‘t feeling the idea of having a woman as president”? I’m surprised he didn’t try to feel the idea of trying to be black by rapping the words.

Michelle Obama joined in the chiding with: ”If we don’t get this election right, your wife, your daughter, your mother, we as women will become collateral damage to your rage. So are you as men prepared to look into the eyes of the women and children you love and tell them you supported this assault on our safety?”

I don’t know what assault she was referring to. I doubt if it was the assault perpetrated on unborn black babies. Maybe the Obamas should have said “you should get down on your knees and thank your mothers that they did not decide to abort you like 50 percent of your unborn brothers.”

The lapdog media chimed in saying that black men are sexist if they do not support Harris.

All of this strains credulity. First, Obama doesn’t know jack first hand about black men. He was raised by his white mother in Hawaii, went to Ivy League schools and is a multimillionaire with million dollar homes. Not exactly the hood. However, he can identify with being raised by a mother without his father around like the majority of black boys today. If anything, black males are the antithesis of sexist. They are raised by women and I believe the long braided hair and earrings are so prevalent among black men because they wish to emulate the most important people in their lives – their mothers and grandmothers. Sexist? Hardly.

Second, Harris like Obama is not of the ‘hood and she too may not be “mostly black”. She was raised in Canada by her Indian PhD mother. Like Obama she was raised without a father in the home. Isn’t it ironic that neither black democrat presidential candidates are African-Americans (although Obama’s father is African)? So why should blacks have blind allegiance to Harris simply because she happens not to be white?

Why all this scolding and finger pointing? I thought Harris’ was the campaign of joy. Do you feel the joy? I don’t and never did. If any campaign is having fun, it is Trump’s. The photo op at McDonald’s was brilliant. Harris should have done it right after she claimed to have worked at McDonalds. But her campaign lacks imagination (and joy). Then there was Biden saying that Trump supporters were garbage. Again Trump’s reaction was brilliant riding to a rally in a garbage truck and saying “You can’t lead America if you don’t love Americans.” Do you think Harris, Biden and the left love America and Americans? If so, where are the American flags in their neighborhoods? I have yet to see one when I drive through my old neighborhoods in Atlanta. Yet at the family farm in Gray, it seems like there is one in front of almost every house on our highway along with a Trump Vance yard sign.

Many are predicting violence if Trump wins. Are democrats again going to loot and burn their own cities? Can’t they rent some busses or Ubers and go burn down the suburbs?

Make Orwell fiction again

“Make Orwell fiction again.”

One of my leftist friends has custom made baseball caps. The latest ones are anti-MAGA. I am going to have one made that says “Make Orwell fiction again.” Both of us can wear that one. He would wear it if Trump wins since he think that Trump will try to make himself dictator and will rule by edict and use the federal government to harass and intimidate his enemies. I would wear it because that is what the democrats are doing and what they will continue to do if they stay in power.

I think that in their typical overreach the democrats have brought back Big Brother. Their terrorizing Trump and his supporters, the harassing of anti-abortion activists, the unleashing the FBI and the Department of “Justice” to do the bidding of the left and relentless assault on the foundations of our republic have created considerable angst amongst the rest of us. Who among us is not just plain tired and fed up of the relentless barrage of whining about abortion and their obsession with equity, climate and gender? Trump has said he does not favor a national bill banning abortion and will leave it to the states where it belongs. He will terminate all the DEI within the federal government and restore the military to being a lethal force rather than its mission of promoting racial, gender and LGBTQ equity. He will terminate the Green New Deal that spends trillions and has no measurable impact on global temperatures. Trump believes that China rather than the climate is the existential threat facing the country.

If Trump wins next week, he should first thank the democrats for keeping him relevant. If the democrats had ignored him after the 2020 defeat, Trump would be an afterthought. He would be like Hillary Clinton, a pitiful whining harpy that makes hateful sounds that everyone ignores. Instead, the attacks on Trump and his supporters following the election have kept him in the public’s eye and made him a sympathetic figure. When Trump won, even though he could have insisted that his Justice Department go after Hillary, she escaped investigation for her roles in Benghazi, the Steele Dossier and all the emails. By not prosecuting her, she became Mrs. Irrelevant. On the other hand, the democrats went after Trump for no reason other than they hated him and wanted to bankrupt him, lock him up and force him out of the political scene. It didn’t work.

If Harris wins, it will only be because Trump was the republican nominee. A Harris victory would not be an endorsement of the Biden years but a testament to the fear and loathing of Donald Trump. A Harris victory would continue to unleash the left’s agenda on the country. I keep reading that the Biden policies have pushed the country to being center-right. Yet the democrats remain solidly left and definitely not center left. Where are the Scoop Jacksons, JFKs and Joe Liebermans in today’s democrat party? There is only one pro life democrat in the congress (Henry Cuellar) and the left ran a candidate against him in the primaries. The left used Biden to further their agenda and stuff their policies down the throats of the public. A Harris victory would double down on their triumvirate of climate, gender and equity. So if you liked the last four years, if Harris wins you should love the next four.

Its probably a coincidence that the week before the election, the government released that the US economy grew by 2.8 percent last quarter. Some are patting themselves on the back but most of the growth is in defense spending. The crucial area of business investment spending was anemic. Just like the jobs growth overstated new jobs by 800,000 I would not be surprised if the growth figures were adjusted downward after the election. A friend of mine pointed to the growth numbers and the stock market and asked me what did I think about the economy. I told him that the strength of the economy showed how resilient it was. I said that the economy is an eight cylinder turbo charged engine running on 5 cylinders. With a dead weight of $1 trillion in government regulations, an ever changing tax code, growing federal debt and political uncertainty, the economy keeps chugging along. Any other economy would be stagnating. Yet 2.8 percent is no cause for congratulations. Our normal real rate of growth should be twice that.
